Verna mentioned ribs and ‘tater salad for the Sunday. I mentioned Brats and Hebrew National Franks for Labor Day.

Saturday: Brats and Hebrew National Franks with Verna’s magnificent ‘tater salad . . .

Sunday: Baby back ribs with the all-important beans and encore ‘tater salad . . .

Late discussions find consensus for the following:

Tri-Tip Roast on BBQ with roasted little taters and asparagus.

BBQ Pork Chops, braised cabbage and acorn squash.

Let the feasting begin . . .

Saturday: Grilled pork loin chops with cinnamon acorn squash, braised cabbage and carrots sauteed in cinnamon and apple juice .

SATURDAY BONUS: Eating this as I enter it here . . . Poached eggs over English muffins with sliced ham, cheddar sprinkles and asparagus spears.

Sunday: Grilled tri tip roast with cheesy broccoli and roasted white potatoes.

SUNDAY BONUS: Avocado-spinach-ham omelet with sausage links and spicy hash browns.

Verna also found a Del Conte’s Garlic Bread recipe. Garlic bread would go well with Chicken Cacciatore, we decided.

We also decided that we could have another steak weekend since jambalaya is more for cool weather.

Saturday: Chicken Cacciatore with Del Conte’s Cheese bread.

Sunday: Grilled Porterhouse steak with spinach blue cheese salad and roasted tater spears.

Saturday: Pork soft tacos with beans and rice.

Sunday: Inch-thick Porterhouse steak with potato wedges and cinnamon squash.

Saturday: Orange Lo Mein Chicken:

Sunday: Barbecued baby back pork ribs with baked beans and broccoli coleslaw.

Did not get to post the suggestions for weekend food before hand, so here’s what we had:

Saturday: Mozzarella stuffed meatballs with pesto-marinara sauce, pasta and garlic bread.

Sunday: Killer chicken-fried steak with garlic mashed ‘taters and green beans.

July 23rd:

Grilled beef tenderloin steaks and iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing.

July 24th:

Steak Salad

July 27th:

Grilled pork loin chops with cinnamon butternut squash and cheddar mac.
